Joe Kaumo, cofounder and Principal Structural Engineer of CFC, brings a wealth of expertise and enthusiasm to the world of cold-formed steel (CFS) design. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming in 2016, followed by a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis in 2019. Joe’s journey into engineering began long before his academic pursuits. During his early years working in cold-formed steel (CFS) truss estimation, he developed a keen interest in structural engineering and a vision to make meaningful contributions to the field. This formative experience cultivated a deep appreciation for the principles of structural design, particularly in the context of CFS, and ultimately shaped him into a skilled professional dedicated to advancing its applications.
When he’s not engaged in CFC projects, Joe takes time to unwind by immersing himself in outdoor endeavors. Whether he’s tending to his lawn, enjoying a hockey match, or riding the tractor, he integrates his technical expertise with a touch of grounded, approachable demeanor that shapes his distinctive character.
